Refreshment Vehicle Licence Application

To apply for a business licence through the Huntsville By-law Enforcement office.

Requirements

Applicant must be 21 years of age or older to apply.
If applying as a Limited Company or Partnership, please provide names of all principal officers.

Proof of Valid insurance (as applicable); Commercial General Liability Insurance in an amount not less than two million dollars ($2,000,000.00) per occurrence for the term of the Business License.
Written permission, from the Owner of the Place of Business, that includes a time frame in which the Refreshment Vehicle can be operated;
A copy of a Certificate of Inspection from a Health Unit Inspection;
A copy of each of the following where applicable:
1. A TSSA annual inspection certificate, MFSE-002
2. A copy of certificate of hydro inspection – ESA
3. A copy of the current vehicle ownership and safety certificate
4. A recent (within six months) Certificate of inspection for the fire suppression system
5. A Field Approval by TSSA or certified and labeled by a certified organization accredited by the Standards Council of Canada
6. Inspection by the Town’s Fire Department
7. A site sketch of where the Refreshment Vehicle will be located on the property
8. Details on type of Foods and beverages that will be sold

Located on a privately-owned lot with commercial or industrial zoning and in compliance with all applicable zone provisions
Located on lands not allocated for other use by an approved site plan under the Planning Act
Structure/Vehicle should be attractive, well designed and with architectural appealing (not utilitarian
Structure/ Vehicle should be incorporated with subtle earth tones
Trailers or Chip Wagons must be aesthetically screened-Signage not to exceed 3m2 in total and scaled to appropriate size in context of the structure
No day glo, sandwich boards or signage pertaining to anything other than business advertising shall be permitted
Refuse and “back of house items” to be well screened
Location not permitted on Right of Ways
Scaled drawings shall include:
- Proposed location, height, dimensions, distances and uses of all structures/vehicle
- Retaining walls, fences, vegetation
- Storage and collection areas for refuse
- Parking
- Signage
- Electrical
